ZAF-2 is an excellent general-purpose defoaming additive to eliminate and prevent foaming in water-based magnetic particle suspensions, aqueous penetrant developer baths, hydrophilic penetrant remover baths and aqueous cleaning solutions. A few drops of ZAF-2 are enough to eliminate foaming in most water-based solutions.
ZAF-2 can be sprinkled onto the surfaces of baths to eliminate foaming. It is not intended to remove fine lather which may occur in recirculating baths where there is excessive air intake in the recirculation pump.
A Method B lipophilic emulsifier, ZE-4E diffuses into the penetrant to clear the penetrant from the surface of the part being inspected. Since ZL-27A is not water soluble, there is minimal risk of this penetrant being removed from a fine or shallow defect through over-washing to provide the highest reliability of any penetrant inspection method.
A medium sensitivity penetrant (Level 2), ZL-2C fluorescent post-emulsifiable penetrant is designed to be removed from the part surface by emulsifiers or solvent. With a UV-A light source, indications will appear as a bright green-yellow fluorescence. ZL-2C has a high flash point, and is designed to be used in open dip tanks.
