Immersion probes are the ideal choice for scanning parts with irregular geometries. Because they are the best method for achieving uniform coupling and reliable, reproducible results, they are frequently used in mechanized or automated testing where water is used.

Large parts can be scanned using probe holders, bubblers or water jets, and beam-focusing probes can be used to improve results.
